It Started With a
14-Year-Old
Girl & an Idea
Long before KL Teen Pageants became what it is today, it started with a 14-year-old girl who simply wanted to create a space where girls could feel seen, celebrated, and confident being themselves.
At 14, Kayanna created her very first pageant. She didn't have a big organization, a fancy production, or years of experience. She just had an idea, a vision, and a desire to create something that made girls feel like they belonged in the prestigious world of pageantry, exactly as they were. A space where confidence mattered more than fitting a mold, individuality was celebrated, and every girl had a reason to feel like she belonged on that stage.
Years later, that little idea found its way back to Kayanna.
Now, KL Teen Pageants is a childhood dream, reimagined with greater purpose, bigger experiences, and a mission to give today's girls more than a moment on a stage. It's a space to grow, connect, discover who they are, and realize just how much they're capable of.

KL Teen Pageants was created to redefine what pageantry looks like for today’s generation of young women. We are a purpose-driven pageant system designed to empower middle and high school girls through confidence-building experiences, leadership development, and authentic self-expression.
At KLTP, we believe pageantry should be more than a competition. It should be a platform where girls feel seen, supported, and challenged to grow into who they are becoming.
KL Teen Pageants is a program of the Queens Arete Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and young women to live in alignment with their highest potential. Rooted in the principle of Arete, the pursuit of excellence and purpose - Queens Arete Foundation believes that confidence, character, and self-worth are essential to personal growth. KL Teen Pageants reflects this mission by creating experiences that encourage young women to step fully into who they are becoming and to lead with confidence, integrity, and purpose.

Of course, we love a crown! But success at KLTP is bigger than a title. We want every girl to leave knowing more about herself, proud of what she accomplished, and carrying something valuable into whatever comes next.
